Why I Started Liteyear Golf

It all started in June 2022. Fresh off a global pandemic and nine years into a successful tech career, I found myself facing an early mid-life crisis. As the father of two young boys, I realized that the prospect of climbing the corporate ladder would mean fewer precious moments with them. It was then that I seriously considered entrepreneurship. I was searching for something that aligned with my passions and something I could share with my sons. Golf became the answer.

Not just for the love of the sport, but also because of the values golf teaches. These were values I wanted to impart on my children; integrity, perseverance, respect, and confidence.

But when I went to shop for golf clubs for my boys I quickly stumbled on a common issue: kids' golf clubs today are simply miniature adult clubs—heavy, cumbersome, and uninspiring. Watching my oldest son struggle to swing and starting to lose interest, I knew something had to change. That frustration sparked the inspiration.

On December 7th, 2024, we launched Liteyear Golf—a company dedicated to crafting the best kids' golf equipment on the planet. It was the culmination of years of frustration, inspiration, passion, and wanting what's best for our children.

Throughout 2023, I brainstormed, collaborated with designers, manufacturers, and industry experts, and ultimately created our first kids’ golf club set—ZERO GRVTY. Designed for ages 3-5, they are the lightest kids' clubs on the planet. Light enough for the youngest players, yet strong enough to hit real golf balls.

But Liteyear Golf is more than just better equipment; it’s about building confidence, inspiring joy, and deeply connecting with our kids through the game we love.
